Personality: Nepeta is known for her saccharine disposition and childish naivety, but she also encompasses some of the main traits of a Leo, the astrological symbol she represents. She is proud, loyal, courageous to boot, but also terribly stubborn and acts like a bit of a simpleton.

She is definitely sweet to everyone who allows her to be, and even to some people who don’t (Karkat). She has the remarkable ability to remain childish, carefree and cheerful even while talking to someone who is outwardly grumpy and ornery towards her. If someone has a history of being a creep or a jerk, she doesn’t change her disposition. Rather, she just opts to avoid them as best as she possibly can.

Equius calls Nepeta a goshdarned sillyface and for good reason. Nepeta doesn’t take much all seriously and is instead rather naïve. She trusts who she cares about a little too blindly and doesn’t acknowledge the brevity of a situation until it’s too late. She appears to not be as mentally mature as the other trolls, as she talks like a child and argues with Equius like one. She wants to have fun and when she is stopped, she gets huffy and upset. With Equius, she also tends to rely on him and what he has to say too much. She’s hesitant to make a serious decision on her own without asking for his permission first.

However, Nepeta is not a dumb little girl. While she may be naïve, she is highly attuned to other people’s feelings and she can read people rather well. When talking with Equius, she clearly sees right through him and attempts to take him down a notch by shoving it in his face. She is also not completely useless. Nepeta is strong and can hold her own in a fight, especially since she hunts and kills musclebeats for food and their hide on her own. When facing a dangerous situation, and realizing it’s dangerous, she jumps in head first, often driven by her courage and her emotions.

Just because Equius isn’t by her side doesn’t mean she will let herself get walked all over and bullied. Quite the opposite. They were mutual moirails, after all, and she needed to be shooshed on occasion; she won’t be letting anyone take advantage of her. Nepeta will be STRONG on her own, and it might be a surprising difference from her usual ‘cute kitty shipper girl’ image.

But she is still a shipper. Shipping like it’s her job is one of the things that makes her Nepeta. She is very very invested and interested in relationships - especially other peoples. So she loves to hear gossip, news, and secrets about other people. No information is off-limits for her. And while she doesn’t necessarily snoop, she does keep an ear out for any information she can use to update her shipping wall. And she will certainly have a shipping wall in Arcanarum.

Abilities/Strengths:
Having hunted and lived in a cave alongside her Lusus since she was old enough to, Nepeta has developed an excellent hunting ability. She can stalk and kill musclebeasts like a pro and she is very physically strong. Her keen sense of smell also aides her in her hunting and she will often ‘smell something out.’

Weaknesses:
Nepeta’s main weakness may be her carefree, childish attitude. She’s too naïve and trusting, and doesn’t take things so seriously if she can help it. Most everything is a game to her. Her reliance on Equius’ opinion and permission is also something that holds her back.

Plans: Nepeta is cunning and brave just like Puss, but she’s not quite as deceitful. She would never trick her friends ever to gain for herself and she won’t like that that’s what Puss did, even if he did it for his master. As far as turning into Puss, she’s going to be really excited because nothing could go wrong with turning into a purrbeast. First, she’ll want to reunite with her friends, and then she’ll focus on getting used to wielding that awesome rapier she got when she arrived. After that, well, she’ll be working on her new shipping wall and try to get as many people to roleplay with her as possible.
